First Report:-
I am delighted to let you know that I have been asked to return to the BBC Radio Lincolnshire airwaves on Sue Taylor’s programme every Saturday morning. This invitation has come 3 years following the end of our weekly slot on the BBC Bus so it is a very welcome and exciting turn of events.
At the moment I am being interviewed live by phone by Sue at 10 20am each week but the plan is for me to have a recording device at home which I then send in to the radio building ready for the show.
Please let me know of anything happening in your village/community which may be useful for me to include or I can post it on to the website for you for use by the presenters. You can also do this for yourselves by phoning, writing or going on-line to the BBC Radio Lincolnshire website. Alternatively, email me using the link given on the Radio Links page.
I look forward to hearing from you.
With best wishes,
Midge Thomas
Radio Officer

Second Report:
Hello all
8 weeks in to this new era of a WI slot on BBC RL I felt it appropriate to keep you up to date with what I have been asked to do. The emphasis is away from the old list of dates and events (PLEASE SEND THESE IN TO BBC RL DIRECTLY BY POST/PHONE/EMAIL/WEBSITE) and to give Mr & Mrs Joe Public a flavour of what we are about. I have been asked to include my own personal activities and then lead into a WI topic + the odd date or event. I have been advised NOT to write a script ! I need to learn the art of talking to myself !
Those of you who were tuned in for this morning’s rendition will have heard that I was rather hesitant and whatever. I was brought the recording device on Thursday morning by Sue herself and she showed me how to use it. She advised having a play around with it and using it. Didn’t have time for all that so what you heard was the first time I’d spoken into it ! I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it. I’m not being asked to report or do interviews but I have thought it would be good to get out and about and visit you with this device.
I’ll close with a brief run-down of topics covered so far. Do keep in touch. Ideas always welcome.
