Letter to WI Members from County Chairman June 2009
The letter references the NFWI campaign: "No More Violence against Women" and the collection initiated by the President of Waddington WI to raise funds for the equipping of the living units at the new Lincoln Women's Aid Refuge. The President expresses her thanks to all WIs who have contributed to the fund so far and reports that the builders have now finished, internal decoration and fittings are under way, and a hand-over is expected in late July.
Saltfleetby WI was pleased to support Lincoln Women's Aid with proceeds from its Open Garden event on 14th June 2009 and was delighted to welcome an official from Lincoln Women's Aid who had attended the May 09 meeting and given a moving and inspiring talk on the need for the refuge and the help that is offered to women in distress.
