DIGITAL TV SWITCHOVER
BBC SWITCHOVER HELP SCHEME
The aim of the scheme is to ensure every eligible person is
supported through digital switchover so that access to TV is maintained;
for many, TV plays an important part in their lives.
The scheme is run by the BBC, under an agreement with the
Government, to help older and disabled people to make the change to digital TV.
Each eligible person is offered help in the conversion of one
TV set in the run-up to conversion in their area.
For £40 (or free to those on income related benefits) those
eligible will receive easy to use equipment, installation, a demonstration of
how it works, and 12 months after care.
Eligibility for the Help Scheme:
Aged 75 or over
Registered Blind or Partially Sighted
Receiving, or eligible to receive:
Attendance Allowance or Constant Attendance Allowance
Mobility supplement
Disability Living Allowance
Loved in a Care Home for 6 months or more.
